wen ar you going to judge th entries thanks:D
When are you going to judge the entries? Thanks.
I am planning on judging within the hour, so if anybody still needs to finish/upload their video,
speak now, or forever hold your peace.
As it stands, I believe everybody has entered that said something, so expect the results soon. ![]()

Awesome!
Can't wait to see what it turns out to be.
Wow, nine entries.
This was a real toughie to judge, there were a lot of great entries, and then adding in the "Montage Vs. Single Kick" aspect made it even harder. I'm second-guessing myself even now, but the results have to be announced sometime, so here they are.
1st-ScreamingTantrum
While at first is doesn't look that impressive, the more this kick is examined, the better it looks. The joke was predicable, but the execution was great. The sound design could have been better though.
2nd-END films
Man, second was really hard to pick, and one of them had to be second, sorry END films.
Some of the physics were a bit off, but you did quite well. The last one was very impressive. Nice masking job by the way.
3rd-Thefourmonkeys
Nice, very nice.
The skateboard was an original and unexpected way to take the theme. And the Bionicle kicks were great, but haven't they already been released? I checked on the first one, and it was, so it doesn't count. I didn't get the "Roadhouse" joke, but overall, you've got some impressive kicks. I knew this one would be in the top three the very first time I saw it. I'm going to assume that the Bionicle kicks were entered by accident, and that all the other stuff is original, since I don't have the time to check on all of it. As a refresher, if something was previously released, then it will be disqualified. I ask that if these were released before, that you voluntarily disqualify it and give the theme picking rights to 2nd place. Thank you.
EDIT: Thanks to the clarification by Monkeys, it turns out only the first two kicks are original. They may have lost a win, but they gained a lot of my respect.
4th-zymoncone
Very good, probably one of the most enjoyable entries, but it had only one, nearly out-of-frame kick.
From what I could see, it was great, but next time, you'll want to center the action more.
5th-blooostudios
Good job. There was just the one, two second kick though. Had you done more at that quality, it probably would have scored higher.
6th-Chris W.
You had some decent kicks, but most of them didn't really look like kicks. Try exaggerating the "kicking" action more. The animation seemed kinda odd too.
And the rest:
osomstudios
Pretty much the only one who attempted a larger story, and while the execution wasn't that great, it was still entertaining. Although it did look quite painful. You did well with all the non-kicking elements. But unfortunately that's not what I was judging on.
Slurping Animations
It's a bit choppy, and includes light-flicker. The sound is low-ish quality, but the punchline was unexpected. A little bit more easing would have gone a long way.
TwoGuysBrickfilms
The animation was choppy, I didn't get the story part, and there were only two kicks in a forty second video. Cheer up though, you put a lot of effort into it, and should be proud no matter what it scores.
Thanks for participating! I can tell that everybody put a lot of effort into their entries!
ScreamingTantrum, give us a good one.

The first two clips were original and have never been released. I threw the in other kicks (Kenny, Roadhouse, Bionicle, and Nut) just to enhance the film for our audience on thefourmonkeys4 channel. I can understand if you disqualify us for using older clips. That's cool. Or perhaps consider judging our entry on only the first two clips. No worries either way. Thanks!
BM
Well, since I'm nice, I'll judge it only on the first two, and simply ignore the rest.
And thank you for clarifying, it takes a lot of courage to give up a win. ![]()
(Although a short PM letting me know that before judging would have been a bit more professional.)

Thank you Pritchard Studios, much appreciated! @(◠‿◠)@
There are 3 reasons we enter these challenges. One because Big Monkey enjoys the challenge of making something for them. Two because we like promoting BiM so others may join and do the challenges. Three because we like an excuse to release a new video for our fans.
That being said, it would be great if everyone, including us, could specify in the rules of each challenge whether or not you are allowed to use old footage and/or previously released footage in addition to the new footage. I didn't see that in the rules of this contest, but I do agree that BM should have specified which parts were new and specifically made for the challenge. Either way none if it seemed worthy of being "disqualified" as it didn't break any rules.
I hope there will always be new people wanting to join BiM and enter these challenges. It's only fair that they should know ALL of the rules for each challenge so they don't run into these problems. ![]()
Wishing you all a safe and happy weekend!!

You're welcome on the reviews. I just hope more judges start doing that.

Yeah, speaking of that, could the nice mod who updates the thread title and first post please add the “Official” rules to the very first post please? I have some typed up that should cover just about everything.
The rules are standardized for all challenges, and any exceptions can be noted by it's judge.
And if ya'll want to look over 'em real quick, feel free to do so.
Thanks oh wonderful, powerful mod!
