Re: The Animation Challenge

So, I can upload all my unfinished stuff...(As long as they have not been previously released)???

Re: The Animation Challenge

Ummm, I think people are missing the point to the "Animation Challenge". Maybe I'm wrong, but the intent is to become better animators at a specific task...in this case camera movement. Entering prior animations is really only cheating yourself out of an opportunity to challenge yourself.

Personally I have no problem with entering whatever people want to enter, but as animators we should strive to become better and push the envelope a touch each time and you really can't do that with stuff that you've already done.

Anywho, that is my two copper and I have to say I'm very very impressed with Pritchard Studios! That was fantastic.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Is it ok if I just give the video itself and not do any editing like sounds and titles?

Re: The Animation Challenge

Though, sometimes, that stuff which you did already do was already pushing the envelop at the time it was made.
I think the it's pretty easy to see that Pritchard really pushed it with what he did, and it looks as though it's quite recent.

The problem with having a rule against previously made stuff is that you can't prove that you didn't just have that hanging around on your computer when the contest started.
And then people might go accusing others of having made it beforehand.

I like it this way.

Of course. It is an animation challenge.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Mine is recent. It was animated from the 14th to the 20th of this month. So a little over a week ago.

Yes, you can. But even if you don't enter it, I'd still like to see some of your unreleased footage.

Yep, in fact, Squid once won an animation challenge that way.

That's almost a week, like the deadline...  So, I think it's fair for everyone mini/wink

Good luck.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Re: The Animation Challenge

Here is my attempt of camera movement. It is going to be used for the opening scene of my next video. I wanted to put something up for the challenge even if it isn't very much. If I get any more done this week I will put it up but I may be too busy. Let me know what you think.  Watch it here.

The greatest of these is Love ... Love never fails.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I plan on just making a montage of various camera moves. Is that okay?

LEGOs, Soccer, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and other completely irrelevant things.

Re: The Animation Challenge

mini/bigsmile you took my suggestion!
If I can get my webcam set up I will try and enter a little somethin'. It would be interested to make it look like a cat/dog's POV or something but idk how I would pull that off even.

Woah, that sounds hard.

I'm not sure how you would get the camera close enough to the ground at minifigure scale.
You'd probably have to deconstruct the floor as the camera moves.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Or I could, like, build a really big set or something. Maybe I'll change it to like a horses point of view lol.

I want to see who can pull off the best moving camera shot. It can be a swoosh, a dolly, or whatever.
