One more thing worth mentioning about Flickr: You can easily embed your uploaded image in different sizes, so there is no need for resizing before uploading. This way you can usually abide by image rules on forums without having to do manual resizing in image editors. Just find the image size in the "share" tab of your picture and you’re all set.
