Topic: Anyone use Animator HD with a DSLR?

I downloaded the demo of Animator HD Personal to make sure it suits my needs before I buy it, and I'm having trouble getting the live view to work with my Canon 60D. I hooked it up with a USB cable, and the program recognized the camera but I couldn't get the live view to work, so I tried using an HDMI cable and it wouldn't recognize the the camera at all. Does anyone know what I'm not doing/doing wrong?

Re: Anyone use Animator HD with a DSLR?

1. What are the disadvantages of using animator HD? Limited time? Limited feature use?

2. Usually still cameras don't support live preview for stopmotion software. I have iStopMotion 3, and it will let me put pictures directly to my computer (even without my CF card), but do have to update it manually.

Re: Anyone use Animator HD with a DSLR?

if it has live view(the camera) choose the 2nd 3rd or 4th setting, cant remember what one it is, i think it's "live view" or video reference or something....

Re: Anyone use Animator HD with a DSLR?

@tenny1028: It does support live view for my camera (all higher end stop motion software supports live view with DSLR's, that's sort of the point.)

@Cooked Cat: I tried that before and it didn't work. mini/sad

Re: Anyone use Animator HD with a DSLR?

Yes, it's a very good camera for video. Do you use a USB or an HDMI cable?
