how do they make these?
Make what? The weapons? They are molded plastic....
well, I'm learning 3ds max, and with Shapeways(some customs on there to.) you can get ur model printed. 
Bought a few from, I think, BrickArms, which operates a Kiosk just outside the Lego store in Christiana Mall in Delaware. I won't be using hte weapons in any of my films, though, as I maintain a purist brick approach.
Go to Firestartoys.com they have brickforge, brickarms weapons and what not. No need to buy stuff separetely.
