Topic: How to set my Nikon up with SAM Animation

So I've installed SAM Animation, and I have my D3100 camera plugged into my computer via USB chord, although I'm unsure how to set the whole lot up so my camera can shoot straight to SAM. I don't even know if my computer is reading my camera, because nothing shows up when I plug it in and turn it on.
