Topic: Video effects that are free! Needed.

So, I'm making a new brickfilm and I need some VFX. Sorta like star wars gunshots. Where can I find some free effects like that? I've heard of a program call Carrara, but I'm not sure if it's free or not. Help!

Those kinds of effects are pretty tricky, and are hard to do with only free software. You can get degrees in this stuff. But the cheapest solution would probably be to go frame by frame and rotoscope the effects in with Gimp or something.:/
