Oh wait, I thought the small U-looking symbol was an O sound, but it's just a size-discrepit U-looking symbol.

The AHY is actually AI, a Y sound (as in "my").

You listed four O sounds. (Go, Good, Goon and Goth, I assume).

The U symbol makes the exact same sound that a U would in "mud". One of the omitted symbols (which is a U with a dot), makes the sound in "good", however, you've listed two U sounds.

Re: Café Corner

Okay, updated list of sounds:
AH, AY, AI (Y sound, but listed here because alphabetical order), B, CH, D, EE, EH, F, G, H, IH, J, K, L, M, N, OH, OHH, OOH, P, R, S, SH, T, TH, UH, UHH (O sound, UH on my original list), V, W, Y, Z, ZH, ZTH
(The sounds are spelled the way they are so that if you translate a piece of Rimtext, you will be able to read the message out loud so you can figure out the words.)

Thanks for one of the two missing symbols! Can you describe the remaining symbol (ZH) so I can complete my key, please?

I see that, like the standard English alphabet, you named the characters. You said the R symbol is called Royshk, but what about all the rest? Can you tell me the names? (I would especially like to know what the IH symbol is called.)

Re: Café Corner

The symbol for the ZH sound looks a lot like the symbol for the Z sound (found in the note at the end of the word is). It looks like an X with a line at the bottom, but instead of having another vertical line at the top, there is a dot (fallowing the typical line/dot thing found throughout Rimtext).

I haven't gotten around to naming all of the characters, I named the Royshk since it is significant. However, the only other sound which I have named is the short I sound which I call "Ith".
(That's the TH sound found in "thin" BTW)
(All symbols, once named, will start with their sound)

I've also wanted to develop a master word with every single sound used once in as nice a sounding order as I can find. It works kinda like a short version of alphabetical order.
And it's much more possibly since you have 6 more letters for vowel sounds.

Re: Café Corner

Thanks! Now my key is complete.

That "short I sound" is the IH sound that I wanted to know the name for! The only symbol that you named other than Royshk is the one I wanted to know the most! What a coincedence!

Will you take suggestions on more symbol names? I can think up a few.

Re: Café Corner

Sure.
All characters must simply start with their sound and have only one syllable.
I however, must make up the M one myself. That one is special.
(Rim is supposed to be a trilogy, every part is named for a character as to spell out Rim, Royshk, Ith, then the M thing)

Here are a few more BTW:
Zhen
Ous ("Good" sound)
Yem
Tak
Vos
Fos

Also, completely unrelated, I've carefully made a PNG image of Twilight Sparkle's "special eyes" or "grumpy eyes" from Crystal Empire and pasted them on my LEGO me:

Also, other stuff.
These eyes are so much fun. xD

Re: Café Corner

Oh my God that's hilarious.
Might wanna blur it just a little though, to make it seem more genuine.

Re: Café Corner

I came up with a name for all but that one (M) of the remaining unnamed symbols:

AH: Alm
AY: Aiv
AI: Ayk
B: Ban
CH: Chel
D: Da
EE: Eaf
EH: Ek
G: Gahk
H: Hursh
J: Jahk
K: Kraz
L: Lus
N: Nem
OH: Olm
OHH: Ohn
OOH: Oob
P: Pan
S: Soo
SH: Shen
TH: Thos
UH: Ulm
W: Wat
Z: Zelt
ZTH: Thelm

I noticed that the ones you came up with kinda sound Norwegean, so I tried to mimic that.

Them pictures. Tee hee!
I've seen that a lot lately. It's practically a meme already (going to check Know Your Meme to see if someone made an entry yet).

Ooh, that was fun!

Re: Café Corner

On a completely unrelated note,

I played around with lighting and depth on these 2 characters, what looks like a city in the background are just random Axe bottles and a pony somewhere.

Feel free to mess around with that one too ANP mini/wink

I don't like the unnecessary Hs in a bunch of them.
But, for sure, this one is a keeper. xD

Re: Café Corner

Those H's were put in there to help pronunciation, but now I see that some of them weren't needed.
I edited the post; I trimmed it down to the neccesary H's (also changed a few more things).

I kept the H in Jahk because it's a reference to Jahk from Pirates Rule!

Hursh, by the way, is a reference to Alex Hirsh, creator of Gravity Falls.
