100 % agreement there

The cover by Jimi Hendrix was AWESOME

Although No Billie Holiday mini/sad in the film (although you hear it for like a second when Laurie and Jon are in bed)

The Cover of jeff Buckley's Hallelujah was also just purely rape,

Fight Club

Oh man, what trippy awesome movie. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton's acting were both amazing.
David Fincher is unbelievable, first he makes Fight Club and then he makes a work of art like Benjamin Button. mini/eek
Incredible film, I'm glad I finally got to see it.:P

Uh... no. mini/tongue That was the original Leonard Cohen version of the song, which Jeff Buckley later covered. Leonard Cohen is awesome. I was very excited to hear some of Philip Glass's Koyaanisqatsi score. It fit the scenes quite well.

Another thing I enjoyed about Watchmen was seeing the brief shot of the New Yorker cover with Dr. Manhattan on it. mini/smile And I believe Annie Leibovitz was in the scene as well. One of the generals in the War Room looked strangely like an older David Petraeus.

Oh pfft, come on. They did a good job of taking the song and turning it into their own style. Sure, it's not Dylan, but it sounded just fine and it's really too different to compare the two.

Same here, and it made me realize that Philip Glass piece is in one of the radio stations in GTA4.

People won't be people when they hear this sound.

Yeah, I referenced that score in my piece for LOTL's Go Miniman Go film, and people were like "the music is from gta!!!1".

I love listening to the Koyaanisqatsi score while Allen Ginsberg's reading of Howl is playing simultaneously.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Lost In Space(1998)

Based on the old television show that failed at competing with Star Trek, LIS is a film that is based upon one thing: Effects.  Based on the fact that the opening scene and the end are the two most entertaining parts of the film (and those two scenes make up just a small part of the 767 special effects shots, still looking quite meh...) you can pretty much come to the conclusion that all the money was spent on CG rather than acting.  The Parents are cheesy, the boy is a child actor, the girl is just dang annoying, and the antagonist (the best actor in the film, IMO) is still quite meh, this film gets on overall rating of MEH.

Really. Come on.  SOOOO much more could have been done with this.  put a little stop-mo in there, get decent actors, you're set.  I say this, because ALL OF THE MONEY was spent on CG.  I can easliy say that 80 percent of the film was special effects.  They should have used stop-motion as a cheaper alternative, and used the leftover dough to get some decent actors and non-CG sets.  Go watch it, you'll see.

The Watchmen.

The best thing about it was the trailer for Wolverine: Origins before it.

Smile and say hello to people. It costs you nothing and can brighten their day.

The Great Disturbance

mini/lol ...
Watched it last night for the first time.
(Okay, so it's a brickfilm, but with a running time of over an hour, it should count, right?)

I never plan on buying anything when I go to the Lego Store.
Strangely enough, I always wind up finding something that makes me ditch those plans.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I think that the new wolverine trailer looked completely terrible. Way to many cliches, a bunch of terrible explosions, way to many slow motion shots, it just looks boring.

Hugh Jackman isn't a great choice for wolverine, he's a good actor and all but, Wolverine is supposed to be like, freaking crazy, in this, its all slow motion screaming shots.

Sixth Sense

Awesome. I loved that whenever there was red in the scene, a ghost was there. I also liked the ending. It was an all around good film with good cinematography. I hate, however, that my dvd froze up near the end. I hate dvds, I just friggin' hate them.

Ghost Town

This movie was disappointing. It was horrible in my opinion.

Pom Poko

It was okay. I liked that the raccoons can transform. It was a great look at Shintoism, which is what I am studying now. Technically great and it was funny at some spots and also sad. Cinematography was great. This movie just says to us "Those damn humans, always messing with our forest and destroying habitats!"

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I've been interested in animism and that kind of folklore lately. I have to admit that I've heard of Pom Poko mainly in the context of the giant raccoon testicles in the film.
