Topic: Some software (mainly!) that I have discovered/recommend.

So I though I'd compile a list of things I've recently stumbled upon or begun using, for the benefit of the community. Please note, it will mostly concern Macs and OS X, as it is the type of computer and OS I use.

I've already told most people here about 'Webcam Settings', which I believe, if publicised enough, will help encourage people using Macs to easily create brickfilms (or any other form of stop-motion), without the previous hindrance of having to buy an outdated DV/HDV camcorders with all important firewire ports or fork out hundreds for a DSLR.

I recently bought a Logitech c920, and it's a truly fantastic webcam. What I had never fathomed was using it on my Mac with full manual controls, which was basically previously impossible (which I'm sure you all know). So here's the link, and I can guarantee, everything works fantastically with webcams like the c920 or c910:

The second is 'Pixelmator', which has quickly become my favourite image editor, full stop. Whilst it lacks many of the pro features of Photoshop, and is in no way superior, Pixelmator has a devoted community, is constantly updated with new features, has an extremely clean interface, is perfect for novice users, like me, admittedly, as well as more professional people (due to the developer emphasis on using the same controls as in Photoshop, allowing for a non-existant learning curve for those odd ones who'd downgrade from Adobe's best). It also has Retina support for the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, which I personally love (everything is fantastic with such high-res support). If we ignore Photoshop for a second, Pixelmator can be easily classified as the best non-Adobe-product image editor for Mac. I used to use GIMP, which has been recently updated to fully support OS X (without the need of X11), and I regard it highly. Good ol' GIMP. mini/cat There are a few other less-notable alternatives, such as Acorn, which through personal experience, I find to be lacking and having an ugly, unappealing (especially when compared to Pixelmator) UI. So I highly recommend Pixelmator if you're on the line about a image editor for OS X. It's extremely high quality, and for $14.99 (edit: it has now rose to $30, but you're still saving another $30 from it's $60 full price), Pixelmator is a complete steal.

The last thing is iStopmotion 3. I won't go into detail, as basically everyone knows about it - but I'll point out with iSM 3, the price has been amazingly cut from $500+ to a mere $50. It also has Retina support, as well as the ability to use your iDevice as a remote camera.

I just wanted to share this with all of you, and I hope it helps in some cases!

Glad it helped! By the way, you should probably ask what people's opinions of your blog are in the Blog Thread: http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/to … og-thread/

But anyway, I like the layout of the blog and it has some good, interesting content. I'd recommend having a less harsh colour as the background, instead of the red. The barbed wire is a little gloomy, but as you have a lot of military stuff, it works. I find the YouTube background to be a little overwhelming with the tile effect, I'd personally make it more simple with just one, well-photographed image.
