Re: Photography

Aww, it rained over where you are too! Down where I live it rained for the first time in like MONTHS so everybody is very happy.
About the photo, I think it's really good but I don't really like the composition of it. Especially the bottom left corner, there is really not much going on over there, but other than that it is practically perfect! mini/smile

Re: Photography

Well it snowed where I am. I looked out the window and was like mini/jaw but it washed away later in the rain but I got some photos! Plus some autumn color photos

Re: Photography

All of them look pretty nice, but it seems like the filters are bringing out to much noise in the pics.

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

@ZachFB - lol mini/tongue

@Legocloniac477 - The one with the bee is really cool! mini/bigsmile

Re: Photography

Chiro, the pictures seem a tad grainy, but I like the (correct me if I'm wrong) Nerf gun pic a lot. Seems like you got the focus just about right.

ZachFB, mini/lol

Cloniac, all of them are pretty cool. Don't know if I could ever get as close as you did to a bee without being stung.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: Photography

@Legocloniac477 The bee ones I find okay, but the LEGO Shakespeare looks awesome. I'm really entranced with the angled frame and focus of the shot. Good job!

@Olson They look good, just a bit 'glowy' if you know what I mean. My personal favorite would be the second one due to its simplicity. The others look great too.

Re: Photography

@Olsonstudios: Do you have a polarizing filter, because while they make any photo shot in sunlight better (not always, depending on what you're trying to accomplish, but it holds pretty true in most situations), I've found that shots the contain a lot of blue, such as the second one you've posted here, benefit the most from a polarizing filter; the filter makes large blue bodies, such as the sky or the ocean, a lot more rich and pleasing to look at, as well as enhancing other colors in the shot. mini/smile

Re: Photography

Thanks for the feedback guys!

@backyard - I know what you mean, and I actually messed with the curves and it created a completely bold solid blue background for the sky, but I actually wasn't a fan (but I usually am on other photos) so I took it the other way, and kind of dulled it out. Brought up the greens and yellows. Thanks though!

Re: Photography

I think you might be a little confused; a polarizing filter isn't an edited on filter, it's a physical piece of glass that you put on the front of a lens. They're adjustable (circular polarizing filters are at least) and they give a much better effect than messing with the color curves. They're a little expensive, around $60 for a 58mm, and they go up from there, but it's totally worth it. I wouldn't go shoot outside without one with me. mini/smile

Re: Photography

AAHHHHH. Gotcha. Makes sense! Don't mind my lack of photography knowledge. Sweet man, I'll have to look into getting one of those!

Re: Photography

Love the 2nd and 3rd Olson, great shots!
