Re: YouTube

Woah, a lot of questions! I'll answer them one by one.

are you able to do it if you are under 18 with a parents permission?

Yes. Well, technically it has to all be under their name.

If I was a partner, am I still able to post things on BiM?

Yes.

So would you say the best way is being a YouTube partner instead of with a 3rd party?

It's certainly a lot simpler, If you can get sponsored by a company then go for it (I know several Swedish brickfilmers are/were sponsored by Warehouse19).

Something important is my username, JonnDthunDer; is it legal or not?

Absolutely.

Also, are all the titles, font, songs, soundfx, and transitions in iMovie royalty-free?  Can I use anything from iMovie in my films?

Yep, you can read about it on page 3 of this if you want to know more.

Am I able to partner some of my videos, if the rest contain copyright material?

Yes. Videos are only monetised if you choose them to be.

Or can I make a second channel and have that have my ones with copyright material in it, and JonnDthunDer would keep the videos without any copyright things.

It's not necessary.

Hope that helps!

Re: YouTube

Thanks, Hazzat!  That was really helpful.  I need to make a few changes to my films before I start that, but then I think I will try it!  I won't have access to my computer for a few days due to Biology homework and a swim meet mini/sad
But after that... mini/wink

Re: YouTube

Anyway, thanks for all of the info guys. I hope to monetize soon, and if anyone comes across where to get the rights to that certain photo, I would appreciate it if you would give me a heads up.

Re: YouTube

On the previous page there was a bit of discussion on public domain classical music.
Check this site out: www.musopen.org It has boatloads of public domain music you can use.
I've used this site several times to find great music for my previous films.

Re: YouTube

Oh, and Mighty Wanderer, make that 113 subscribers!  Great BFF list by the way mini/lol
(I wasn't subscribed to Brotherhood Workshop?! I'd better fix that mini/tongue )

Re: YouTube

Please don't start posting stats again. It's fairly dull and not even remotely a catalyst for discussion. If we wanted to know your stats, we could go to your YouTube channel.

Re: YouTube

I agree with Hazzat. Random numbers like "oh I got 4512 views last night" are dull. If you pass the 1000 subscribers count though or 1 million views count then feel free to announce it because that is a great achievement mini/wink

Re: YouTube

Hi guys, I have been on youtube for a while, and have been wondering about a question. In what ways help to viewer growth. I so far have 86 subscribers, and are trying to get 100. If you guys have any tips that would be great if you answered them. Thanks!

Re: YouTube

Gotcha.  No more stats.
@blooman2345 I wish I knew...make a really good video mini/lol  ?
Has anyone done the thing on YT where it says promote your video or something, like you pay 10 bucks and that's supposed to get you x number of views?

Ways to become more popular:
1)Create decent videos that people wanna watch (obviously).
2)Buy advertisement to attract bigger viewership.
3)Be lucky. I know it's a "stupid" way but let's face it, youtube and real life share this similarity... sometimes you have to be in the right place at the right time. There are plenty of youtubers out there who make average, dull videos yet they are succesful and their monthly earnings are over 2000$. I had this discussion with another brickfilmer other day and we definitely agreed that while guys like FF101 and Keshen8 do make good videos they really got it easy (the viewership and etc.), there's a huge list of animators who struggle to get views despite their awesome talent (Cannedgravy, SuburbAnimStudios and etc.). My video "Freddy vs Jason" has over 800k views and has generated me a big amount of subscribers and that brickfilm isn't even that good, it's bad IMO (comparing to my recent vids which struggle to get 1k views) so go figure mini/bigsmile
