Topic: Bulk of Bricks

Does anybody know where to get a certain color of bricks in bulk?
I need grey pieces, and I don't want to waste money getting them individually or buying the multi colored assortment containers.

Any advice would be appreciated. mini/smile

Re: Bulk of Bricks

Bricklink, just find a seller that's got a ton of them. mini/wink

Re: Bulk of Bricks

Or Ebay, and if you have the money (though I don't recommend it) Pick-a-Brick form LEGO.

Re: Bulk of Bricks

PAB is generally more expensive than Bricklink, and PAB charges tax, making it very hard to save money going that route. And while Ebay is usually more expensive than them both, but there are occasionally some really good deals, while the others always stay around the same prices.

Re: Bulk of Bricks

While building the sets for Holding Our Own Episode 1, I put an ad in the local trade paper that started, "Kids all grown up?  I'll buy their Lego sets!" then went on with the pertinent information.  Someone responded, and I bought a 46-gallon container of city/space/pirates from 1980s-about 1994, and 25 instruction booklets, for $44!  Another lady responded saying that she had all red & white bricks.  I knew something was up so I checked it out.  Turns out she had 700+ bricks from a 1965 Town Plan set (and a really unique gears set from around 1970), and I paid $20 for it.  The bricks had an older Lego logo, and they are printed 90 degrees rotated from where they are now.  Some local papers let you place such ads below $5 or even free, and you never know what people have for you!

You can see an old grey baseplate from that town plan set in the 6-second Polar Burger cut of my video.  On my page it's "Holding Our Own episode 1C".
