Topic: 10 Facts about the production of Holding Our Own: Episode 1

Hey!  I was writing down some of the more interesting things that happened during the filming of Holding Our Own for the commentary track, so I decided to share with you.

1) The gray baseplate used in the 6-second Polar Burger scene is from a 1965 Town Plan set.  Some of the blue slopes in the Schneider home are from the 1975 lunar lander set.  Other parts date back to 1973's set number 2(!)

2) Micheal Tourette's voice for Brent Schneider is based on his imitation of his own father.

3) Angela Schneider is named after the prime minister of Germany, Angela Merkel.

4) The living room and exterior views of the Schneider home are modeled loosely on the designs of the home in the TV series, "Everybody Loves Raymond".

5) The "24" audio on the television is from the first episode of season 6.

6) Like Johnny Strange, Michael Tourette's brother is in a 3-member punk rock band.

7) The snake in the park sequence is primarily the Christmas Wreath set (#30028) with parts from the 2011 Pharaoh's Quest snake set and 2000 Star Wars Naboo Speeder set and a few stray bricks.

8) Melissa's minifigure is a hybrid of the Pop Idol and Female Lifeguard figures from Lego mystery minifigure series 2.

9) The facts about "Weird Al" Yankovic and John Holdren are true.

10) The music and lyrics to the "Holding Our Own" theme song were written 18 years apart.
