Topic: Lego Musical

I have a question. I am thinking of making my new film "Velcro Man" A musical. Would it be a good idea to do this and do you think anyone would be willing to sing. (Not good because it's a comedy but willing to sing without being embarrassed.) What is your thought on this idea.
Thank you for your feedback. mini/smile

Re: Lego Musical

That's three questions, not one. mini/tongue

#1. Good idea? YES! While I don't care for musicals in general, I'd enjoy seeing a brickfilm musical. Why you ask? Singing isn't something that you see often in brickfilms, therefore making the film unique and special. I'd like to see how you handle that type of movie.

#2. Would anyone be willing to do it? While it all depends on the content, if the movie is clean, I'd pitch in, and I'm sure there are others that feel the same. (Although my singing voice sounds like scraping your fingernails on a chalkboard.)

#3. What are your thoughts? See above. mini/eh

Re: Lego Musical

how would you get your voice actors to know the tune you want?
i think that'd be a really cool idea, and if you needed a girl voice i'd be happy to help, just don't know if i'm the best singer mini/tongue

First of all, you don't have to be a good singer because it is a comedy (Although the better you sing, the better.)
Second, It would be clean of any foul language or lots of violence so if the time does come I could use all the help I can get.

Im not exactly sure yet, hehe. I'm still figuring that out. And most people just say that there not great at singing when they are just trying to be modest. Same for you Pritchard!

Re: Lego Musical

Maybe if you can get voice actors and singers separately, then do some audio dubbing to get better singing quality.

The way you could sort the 2 from each other would be to create a casting call for voice actors, then a separate casting call for singers. Maybe even try find another forum online that has singers and songwriters to help you with the music, because I'm not sure how good musically the BiM community is.

None the less, great idea, and I'd be willing to help with instruments, so long as you don't mind digitally produced music.

Re: Lego Musical

AWESOME IDEA!  And I'd love to sing in it!  I like to include singing and music in my own series, Holding Our Own, and the character Johnny Strange is going to sing a song in it once per episode.  Addressing the issue of getting people to sing, what I did is record the song (with my band, Tinnitis), one with myself singing vocals and one without, send an mp3 to the actors, and let them record the voice while listening on headphones to the mp3.  I also provided sheet music for those who read music.  If you can compose a song but can't read music, the mp3 technique is adequate.  I'd love to be a part of this project.
