Topic: Dragonframe Motion Control Rig

Hey Everyone!

Last night I finished making my Dragonframe Motion Control DSLR camera slider. I looked into buying one but they can be very expensive so I wanted to try it myself (at a fraction of the cost). I had no electronics experience prior to this along with zero experience with Arduino (in fact I hadn't even heard of Arduino).

I'm going to be making a how to video, but wanted to post my first test here so you have an idea as to what I'm talking about and to see if there would be interest from this community to see how it was done.

This is just the first prototype and I have much bigger ideas for the future one. Thanks for the read. Click the link to check it out.

Aww man, I've always wanted one of these! The motion is so smooth! I can see this being put to very good use. I take it the curves on the computer control the motion? Also nice workspace mini/wink . Hopefully you'll be makin' more films now!

Cool stuff. I'd be interested in putting something like that together, it would certainly be useful for some projects (not Houdini, though. The camera is far too energetic).

Re: Dragonframe Motion Control Rig

So I've done a redesign of my rig (pictures soon to come). It now has the capability to jog left and right, tilt up and down, and rotate left and right.

Hoping to get some test shots done this week and I'll keep this thread updated.
