Topic: Stop Motion Pro Action HD Issues

For the past while, whenever I use Stop Motion Pro I have experienced many problems. Sometimes, when I play back my animation, the video and the audio will start at different times, messing everything up, and making playback slow to a crawl (either that or just playing at hyper speed, making me unable to see how well my animation is timed).

I left my animation table to take a short restroom break, and when I came back not even a minute later the onion skinning did not work! When I try to copy and paste a frame, It will sometimes place it in a random spot in the animation. And whenever I close the software, three pop ups come up every time, the last of which I am unable to close and have to restart my laptop to make go away.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions as to how I can fix these problems, as they are having a great interference with my workflow.

You may want to ask this on SMP's Helpdesk.
I use it, and I'll say those are some really weird problems. That kind of stuff never happened to me.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Great to see that I'm not the only one that's having problems with SMP Action! HD...

Re: Stop Motion Pro Action HD Issues

I feel your pain. I have the same version of SMP and after deleting some unwanted frames, the onion-skinning stopped working which was quite annoying. I'm not sure about the copying and pasting issue, but it automatically places the frame in the last position for me.

I've only tried to sync audio to the video once, with frustrating results. The audio wouldn't play back while I captured frames for some reason.

I've tried Dragonframe and AnimatorHD as well, and those programs worked flawlessly.

I kinda want a refund from Stop Motion Pro, their software was feature-packed but sucked when it came to compatibility and stability. mini/madhead

I think some of the problems might be related to system specifications, so I'd like to hear. I've used SMP before and never ran into any trouble.

Re: Stop Motion Pro Action HD Issues

Maybe the problems will fix themselves soon, as I'm getting my uncle's old computer. mini/smile

Re: Stop Motion Pro Action HD Issues

I would still like to hear system specifications if you're having the same trouble as OP. May be able to pinpoint where it goes wrong.

Re: Stop Motion Pro Action HD Issues

Mmkay... So my biggest problem is that I can't get live view in Stop Motion Pro. If I set the resolution to anything higher than 160x120, the program gives me an error "the memory couldn't be read" or something like that, and it crashes. It wasn't like that before, with my old cameras, I first noticed the problem when I upgraded to a LWC9000. I tried my old logitech webcam too, the E3500, and suddenly that one doesn't work either. It worked just fine before.

My specs are:
-2gig RAM
-80gig C: drive and 250gig D: drive
-Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.2GHz (2CPUS), ~3.2GHz
-Windows 7

Re: Stop Motion Pro Action HD Issues

I don't have that problem, but I have a few other minor issues that I've listed before.
_____________
System specs:
_____________

- 16 GB DDR3 1333 RAM
- 2 x 2TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0GB/s hard drives (one for backup)
- Asus Crosshair V Formula motherboard
- AMD Phenom II 6-core CPU (Stock 3.3 GHz)
- Gigabyte GTX 650 Ti OC (@900 MHz)
- Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I don't think specs like these should cause any problems, even if my PC is [relatively] outdated.
