Topic: Having a TERRIBLE rendering and Youtube Problem.

Ok, over the past 3 to 4 days I have attempted to render, and upload a new short film. It is the first film I have completed that uses my new Canon 60d. When I render the finished film, it plays like it should, filling up the whole screen. However when I upload it to youtube, it seems like the site can't figure out that it is a 1,920, 1080 file, and letterboxes it on the sides. I heard it may have something to do with the pixel aspect ratio, so I rendered the file as a 1,440, 1080 file with a 1.333 pixel ratio. It appears fine while rendering, however when it is finished it is letterboxed, BEFORE I upload it to youtube. I am almost at my wits end, any advice?

If you go to the file properties, what does it say the width and length of it are? Also, what editing software are you using? Have you tried some presets that come with the software? If so which types? It sounds like an odd problem.

It says that it is 1,920 by 1,080, (Or in some of my attempts, 1,440, by 1,080.) I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 10. Normally I would use an mpeg2 type of file. However my version of Vegas crashes when I attempt that with this project. (It is much bigger then my others.) So I am using an AVI. The pixel aspect ratio of the first attempt at uploading was 1.000. (I believe that is what I usually use.) But it didn't go widescreen. I then when with another ratio, and it didn't change anything. I am now attempting to render at 1.333 however that won't go widescreen even in the player before uploading.

Another solution might be to try some of these youtube formatting tags: http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/a … wer=146402

Just insert them in where you normally would put your video's tags

FINALLY got it up. For some reason, it crashed while rendering a 1,920 by 1,080 mpeg2 file, but didn't if I did it as a 1,440 by 1,080. I appreciate all of your guy's help and advice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGRrXe48 … ature=plcp
