Topic: Blue Snowball Trouble

I apologize if this kind of topic has already been made but this seems to be an  issue that keeps occuring for some reason. Occasionally when i plug in my blue Snowball Windows can't seem to recognize the device, and the only way I've been able to fix it for some reason is changing the wire to the snowball to something else, plugging that wire in, then changing it back again. But now that I'm away I don't have any extra leads for my microphone, so does anyone know why this is happening, or how I can fix this?

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

Try re-installing the driver. They can get corrupted occasionally over time and just need to be removed and re-installed.

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

Thanks, I'll try that in a bit.

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

I have been having the same issue, I just unplug it, wait a while, and plug it back in. And that seems to work fine.

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

I've tried that plenty of times Realbrick but it doesn't seem to work. Also, Jargon, for some reason windows won't let me uninstall the driver, the button is disabled for some reason.

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

Well, it just happened to me again yesterday, I unplugged it, restarted the computer, then plugged it back in and it was working.

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

Just tried that twice, still no luck. Things like turning it off then back on again don't seem to work.

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

You Windows users and your drivers.

You can use the "add or remove programs" in Windows to remove the driver software from your machine, then try reinstalling it.

Re: Blue Snowball Trouble

Oh, just got it working. Turns out that you can turn the other end of the cable (the one going into the microphone) upside down and it still works, and in fact fixes the problem.
Thanks to all of you for all the suggestions though, I appreciate it.
