Topic: Help With My Canon PowerShot S3 IS

I have ikitmovie... I use a webcam (used to) and when you are taking pictures you can see what your doing on a computer (in my case a laptop) so you take a picture and you see your progress on the screen. My Question is How do i do that with a digital camera? i want to be able to see what i am doing on a bigger screen, But i don't know how to do that. is there a cord that i can connect to the camera and computer? like the Webcam? Please help!!!

You might want to do a bit of research on whether your camera tethers(remote control). A normal USB plug works, and have a look at the software that came with it(if any). I have a POWERSHOT myself, and mine tethers. If there is any software like "Camera Window" or so, that could be it. Good luck anyway!

Well there aren't any firewire ports on your camera, but there is a usb port. I suggest trying out hooking your camera to your laptop via usb cable and trying to find some kind of live capture function in iKitMovie. Does anyone know what Nick Durron uses to use live capture if he uses it at all. Last time I heard he also uses a powershot.

I use a Powershot a520(I THINK) and that tethers, that was the whole reason why I got it. Michael Hickox uses a Powershot too.
