Well, for beginners, it's better to start without mouth animation. Most often, attempts to do mouth animation come out as an unsynced black blob done in Paint or something. The few brickfilmers who have done good mouth animation, such as 0ldScratch, have started out without mouth animation and mastered the other, simpler parts of making a brickfilm before trying out mouth animation.
Besides, mouth animation isn't necessary for a brickfilm. It looks fine without it.
Oh, and I think you accidentally some words in that second line.
(See what I did there?)

I prefer no mouth animation, but I've never tried using it. I like the style of no mouth animation personally. Some people rely on mouth animations on still shots to portray talking rather than arm movements and head positions. It would increase the amount of time you spend in post-production too. A good example of an amazing film that uses no mouth animation would be Henri & Edmond. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hmb0qVSd2rY
I think facial animation can be a great addition to a film, but only if the film is decent to begin with. Master brickfilming the old-school way before jumping into potentially complex post production.

My opinion exactly.
