Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

Nice work so far, Sméagol. It's good to see that things are finally getting done.

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

Signature images are now enabled, and we have thread titles instead of post times in the "last post" column of the forum index.

In addition to a bunch of smaller things.

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

Yes! I really missed the title of the thread in the latest post. I meant to ask if we were able to use it on the old ilb too. Thanks Smeagol.

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

Perhaps you could try and make it when you have a new PM, you have a notification window?
Like on the old brickfilms.com

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

PM Notifications are a lingering problem - we'd like to get it such that "Messages" will become bold and have a (#) next to it but there have beens some technical issues to deal with.  So that should be fixed eventually.

Do the new spoilers work for images?

No, but you can always just provide a link for a spoiler image.

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

Why doesn't Chat work on this site?

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

It does, it's an IRC chat so you need an IRC client.  If you have FireFox, there is a client called Chatzilla that will work.  Or you can connect to it via a site like Mibbit, though I've never figured that out myself.

We're hoping to replace the current chat with a web-based chat soon.

Make the chat link go there.

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

Yeah, that's the link.  I'd rather let people decide what IRC client they want to use, though.

The directory is moving forward, this screen shot is not hard coded or Photoshopped, more information will follow later.

What happened to the one in the Brickfilmers.com screencast?

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

Schleaps added a film to the directory database by hand (this film was added through the submission tools you will use), however when I took over some of the goals for the directory have changed and I changed what information was needed and made it so films could be added without knowing SQL.  Also his film was a test, not a real film, and the thumbnail was hard coded in the site.

I'm not trying to downplay what Schleaps did, he created a great framework for the user interface that has made things much easier for me.

Re: The State of Bricks in Motion

That's looking very nice, SlothPaladin. I can't wait for the Directory to be finished and opened now.
I love how you can view it in two different ways, I'd much perfer the one film per line though, so I'd be using that.

The graphics for the main body of the actual films is nice, did you do those graphics yourself? Or are they Schlaeps? Just out of curiosity.

Schlaeps put that together.  He did a fair amount of work in putting together the GUI for the directory there and also the submission form, most of what remains is coding.  We'll also be making some new graphics for the directory pages and the chat though.
