Topic: Dragonframe 3 + A camera [question]

Hello everyone,
I plan on buying dragonframe 3, and I am already close to having enough money. After I buy this program, I plan on saving up for a camera to go along with it. I have the logitech webcam pro 9000, which I will be using until a new camera is purchased. I also have the panasonic lumix fz35, but it does not support live feed to the computer.

I am quite tech-savvy, but I need help with this situation. I've looked at dragonframe's website, and specifically the compatible camera section: http://www.dragonframe.com/camera.php . No, I do not know what specific model to save up for yet, but hopefully after I find a solution to this question, I'll know. After clicking on different cameras, I always see this:

"The Canon EOS 550D/Digital Rebel T2i provides a live view via its USB connection. The live view size is 1056 x 704."

"The Nikon D300 provides a live view via its USB connection. The live view size is 640 x 426."

"The Canon EOS 50D provides a live view via its USB connection. The live view size is 1024 x 680."

It states the size of the camera's live view. So if I want to make a 720p or 1080p video, would the resolutions listed above affect how the video will come out? Will the quality be reduced? Is it the live view size that is captured from the program, or is it the image from the camera that is being captured? If any of you have experience with dragon frame and a camera listed on the website, can you help me out? Thanks,
- Mason

Re: Dragonframe 3 + A camera [question]

I think (I'm not to sure) that the live view has no effects on the rendered final. There should be some option to say at the start of the project which aspect ratio you want. Fool around a bit in the trial version I'd say. As for the camera I'd take the Ti2, because so many people use it and It's gotten somewhat of a reputation for a brickfilming camera.
