I have been putting a lot of effort into a script which may or may not see the light of day. But the problem is there is a lot of overused material and it might not get that good reception for it. Please give me some tips for overcoming that problem

I would try having a look at videos that are in the same type that you are making and try to avoid what you don't like and/or annoying cliques. Most of all, make it unique. Make the characters believable. Give the storyline a good twist here and there. I wish you good luck on creating that script!
