Topic: Urgent mic help
I just bought a snow ball mic and then tried to plug it in and the computer dosent do anything please help!

It seems like you expect something to pop up like with a flash drive, right?
Well, microphones don't work like that.
You have use a program such as Audacity to record with any kind of microphone.
I knaow it didnt show up in audacity either.
Did the driver install successfully? In audacity, did you go into preferences and set the microphone to record, or by not showing up you mean not listed at all?

Did you plug it in first, then open Audacity?
yeah the only thing the computer said was somthing like installation failed. So then i went into Audacity and it didnt show up under preferences.
ok so I am now 80 percent sure that it is an older mic and is not compatible to my computer. So I need help finding a way to adapte it to work on this computer.
Have you followed the instructions included with the microphone? They're pretty comprehensive and should walk you through this process. I use the Blue Snowball and works with my computer running Windows 7, so that shouldn't be the issue.
I use a snowball too. Works just fine in audacity.
Did you buy the microphone new or is it a used one? Both should work but the drivers in the newer ones are well newer. If the installation failed, try and use another cable. If that doesn't work, then it's either an issue with the mic or the PC.
What are your PC Specs and OS? Would be needed.
