Topic: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

CASTING-CALL CLOSED! ]

Contrary to what some of the below stuff says, all roles have been taken, and the lines have been sent out.
If you would like to be a part of it, PM me. Because I need a lot of extras for a big battle scene, and then just generally throughout the film. Thank you to all the voice actors who have helped get this project to the next stage!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, after much thought, I’ve decided to go ahead and post this casting call for my upcoming film Batman:The Timeless Knight. (For more info on the film, click the link.)
Anyway, here are all of the characters, and if you have any questions or comments, just PM me. mini/wink

Major roles:

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/rooffight12_0069.png

Batman/Bruce Wayne
Just do your best Batman (Christian Bale version) voice, and for Bruce, just do a calm, collected, 30-something year old man. Test lines: Bruce: “Thanks for the save, those guys can be pretty annoying at times.”
Batman: “Wait! If you don’t kill me, then I’ll give you the one thing that I know you want. The location of the man who made you like this.”
Auditioned: "NEGtron Zero" Lechnology ]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture144.jpg

Riddler
He’s middle-aged, and more of a “Dark/Evil” character than usually portrayed. He has a cruel element to his voice, but is a coward when faced with Batman.
Test line: “Riddle me this, what do you do when a man like him knows too much? Answer: Kill him as soon as possible.”

Taken by: DarthVincentPrice]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Hermit%20concepts/Picture101.jpg

The Hermit
He lives in a swamp that is haunted, so his speech is weary, old, and frightened.
The main thing is correctly getting the terror in his voice.
Test line: “You would if you lived here! They never leave me, never cease to trouble me!
Night or day, it matters not to the ghouls!”

Auditioned: Jargon, "Cardboardwalk" ]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture90.jpg

Killer Croc
I need it to be deep, growly, and non-human sounding.
And I’ll also need roars. (If you can do that.) And if you want to put an effect on your voice, that’s fine, but send me the original file as well.
Test line: “I’m gunna kill you, ‘cuz I'm king here, the KING OF THE CROCS! [Roar]”
Taken by:ANP]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture87.jpg

Messalus
He’s tough, determined, confident, slightly deeper voiced, and middle-aged.
He also speaks quickly and concisely, as if giving a command.
Test line: “Yes, but I don’t think that I will kill you, not yet at least.
There is a…creature…out in the nearby swamp, it is said to guard a great treasure.
If you could kill it and retrieve the treasure, I might not kill you.”

Auditioned:"Wardogblacky" ]

Minor roles:

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture141.jpg

The Joker
Heath Ledger Joker voice. ‘Nuff said.
Test line: “Fine. If you think so highly of your thugs then why don’t you try to kill the Batman? I guarantee that they will fail.”
Auditioned: "Jonathan Jones," Myself, (Pritchard Studios) but still open]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture213.jpg

Jacob Ben Hezekiah
Jew, middle-eastern accent would be nice but not needed.
Not the nicest fellow, but at least his friend has some better qualities.
Test line: “He looks like a roman, and haven’t they taken many things from us? I see no wrong in taking from a thief.”
Auditioned: None]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture212.jpg

David
He’s a Jew, like Jacob, but more compassionate and kind.
Test line: “But we don’t know if he’s a thief, and anyway, he doesn’t look like a roman. He seems more noble…and righteous.”

Taken by: Repelling Spider]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture188.jpg

Chuckles
Thug leader, he sounds tough until Batman starts to beat up on him, he then breaks down and starts to talk. And like Happy, I really don’t care as long as it’s gangster-ish.
Test line: “Do you really think you can get out that easily? Look, tell me who it was that threatened you, and I guarantee that he’ll be dead in a week.”
Auditioned: "KorkiProphet"]

Teen #1
Just use your typical teenager voice.
Test line: “I’ll be back in a minute; I want to check this area out.”
Auditioned: "gokaiblue"]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture146.jpg

Ra's al Ghul
The wise, planning and patient leader of the League of Shadows, rarely gets angry, is calm, cool, and slightly pleased as things continue to go according to plan. (Liam Neeson made a good Ra’s, if you can imitate him, but that’s not necessary.)
Test line: “Who would believe her? And who will she tell? The Roman army? It’s commander is allied with us. The senate? I have hundreds of men in the League of Shadows of high-ranking. Even if she were to go all the way to the top she couldn’t find anyone that she could trust….Let her go, she can do us no harm.”
Auditioned: None]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture50.jpg

Scarecrow
Should be ghost-like, spooky and unsettling, not sure how else to describe it.
Test line: “Do you really think that you can scare me? I am immune to fear….Because I am the spirit of fear.”

Taken by: Annoying Noises Productions]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/FireFlyPromo_Take12.png

Fire Fly
Muffled, taunting, smart aleck, mid-range voice.
Test line: “You’re wrong there, I was the one who torched your friend’s home…and your friends too.”

Taken by: Jargon]

Five lines or less:

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture187.jpg

The Penguin
Preferably similar to Burgess Meredith from the 60’s show, but it doesn’t need to be too terribly close.
Although you MUST be able to do his laughing thing fairly well.
Test line: “Oh, Happy, Chuckles wants to see you in the back…Alone. Wa Wa Wa…!”
Taken by: Loic F-B]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture189.jpg

Happy
Typical thug, I really don’t care what he sound like, as long as it’s gangster-ish.
He’s also scared (or at least nervous) in most of his lines.
Test line: “Yeah, I’m getting out o’ this…. And no, it’s not that easy.”
Auditioned: "Yaminomalex" ]

[picture coming]
The Cheerful French Man
Very cheerful, happy, middle-aged, and should have a French accent.
“Mr. Wayne, I am delighted that you could make it here.  Though I’m afraid the storm will keep a lot of others away from this wonderful event.”

Taken by: GGSStudios]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture214.jpg

Teen #2
He is respectful and nice, although slightly disappointed.
Test line: “Alright then, I’ll be back in the morning…I guess.”
Auditioned: "chrisparlamas"]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture211.jpg

Nice Guard
Middle-aged, stern when need-be, but generally a nice guy.
Test line: Sir, do not touch the statues of our honorable emperor, as you may ruin their exquisite craftsmanship.

Taken by: AnW]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture209.jpg

Man #1
Reporter-like, talks a little fast, has a slightly deep voice, 30s-ish.
Test line: “Mr. Wayne, do you have any comments on your impression of this exhibit?”
Auditioned: "Grant Lease"]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture190.jpg

Goon Leader
He’s got a deep, tough voice, but isn’t that smart, just your typical big-muscles small-brain type thug.
Test line: “I know…He He He! You think you’re in love don’t ya Kitty Kitty. I think Joker’s got a cure fer dat, a real permanent one…He He He!”

Taken by: Minifig051]

[picture coming]
Guard 2
Normal 30’s voice, tough, no nonsense.
“We can take him off your hands now.”

Taken by: Edmeier Animator ]

[picture coming]
Guard 3
Normal 30’s voice, he enjoys his work of putting away the prisoners a little too much, so a little sneering would be good.
“Yeah, and we’ll put you in a nice cozy prison cell.”
Taken by: Annoying Noises Productions]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture215.jpg

Man #2
British accent, older guy and sorta "gentlemanly-ish." He's the chief servant for one of the characters.
"You know, I was once an adventurer like you...A real good looking one at that."
Auditioned: None]

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff416/PritchardStudios/Picture191.jpg

Hush
Muffled, gruff, mean, not the type of guy you want to meet in a dark alley.
(Yeah, High Mountain Studios, you were right.)
Test line: "HUSH RIDDLER!....Joker, you may continue.”

Taken by: Repelling Spider]

Send auditions to: “[email protected]
And like I said all the way at the top, if you have any questions or comments, just PM me. And please include the name that you want to be credited as in the e-mail.
(Sorry about all the gigantic pics, but at least you'll know what they look like all the way down to the tiniest detail. mini/lol )

P.S. Yes, I know some of the descriptions aren't very helpful. I'm just not too good at describing exactly what I want, so do a number of different voices for the person that you're trying out for, and I'll tell you which one fits him best.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

I think I'm interested, and I'll probably try for a couple of people sometime. Particularly Batty, Joker, and Scarecrow. I'm sick at the moment, but getting better. Though, I do end up taking a few days or so getting lines done, but I've got a delightful microphone now.

Also, you should get Darth Vincent Price to do the Riddler if you can. He's the best.

The Penguin is such a great character...  And I love the villain roles mini/tongue

Do you know how many lines he has? (I would do it, but I don't know if I have the time for it.)

Ahah, sorry xD

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Oo I may be interested in trying out for a few. When would the due date for all lines be needed provided I were to get a part? Just wondering if I can fit it into my schedule. Looks like this is going to be a more original Batman film and I really like the characters so far. mini/smile

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Thanks for all the comments already! I'm glad there's this much interest in furthering the project.

Great! Can't wait to hear your lines. And I contacted DVP, thanks for the suggestion.

Three lines to be exact, I actually threw him in at the last minute, and...

Spoiler (click to read)

...So he's only going to be in the extended cut, and has very small (Cameo-like) role even then.

There's not really a deadline, although I'd kinda like to have 'em sometime this year. mini/tongue

With the exceptions of Ra's, Joker, Riddler, Happy, Chuckles, Hush and Catwoman. (The latter of which I don't think you'd be interested in.) I'm not in much of a hurry at all. Either I've yet to film the scenes, and won't do them for a while, or I've already finished it, and it doesn't matter when I get the lines.

Really, if you're going to be busy, you may want to pick a smaller role. But the Hermit is someone that I can wait quite a bit longer on, as I'm not going to get to those parts for a while. mini/wink

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Sending in a test lines for a buckload of the characters.

Ohhh! I slapped my leg but it's actually my balls!- Hal.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

I sent you my test mini/smile

The laugh is not perfect, sorry.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

I'll try out for the Goon Leader sometime today.
It's going to be a deep variation of a dumb voice (I think a dumb voice will fit him better than just a deep voice).

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Nice casting call, I really like all the info you put up. I'll probably audition for several voices a little later.

Not sure if it's too late for you to change this, but the guy Messala is supposed to be Roman, right? If so, I'd recommend changing his name to "Messalus" or something of the sort. Almost no guy names end in the letter "a" (I can only think of one guy, who's Persian), and Roman names would never end in an "a" (I dare anyone to find a guy from ancient Rome who's name ends in an "a"); words ending in "a" in Latin are feminine, and male names usually end in a "us" (Julius) or a consonant (Octavian, Caesar, etc.). I know no one's going to be trying to decline your brickfilm dialogue, but having the name end in an "a" is a rather extreme mistake (extreme to me, at least mini/tongue ). And even ignoring the Latin incorrectness, names ending in "a" are almost always female names (unless, again, they are Persian (and probably a few others, I'm not trying to be racist here or anything)), and even reading the name, it seemed a little wrong to me for a Roman guy. Just trying to help out! Expect an audition soonish mini/smile

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

@GGSStudios and Loic F-B, sent you responses via E-mail.

@Minifig051, Yeah, that's what I tried to convey with "...isn’t that smart, just your typical big-muscles small-brain type thug."

@Kcirbfilms, http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p84/UberSocks/36-1.gif Man, I'm learning Latin and still totally forgot about that. Thanks for pointing it out.
That's strange because "Messala" actually the name of the main villain from "Ben-Hur," so I guess the writer forgot about that as well. Either way, I changed it to "Messalus," so I hope you're happy. mini/tongue

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Alright, I sent a test line for Killer Croc.

You got the part of "Goon Leader" hands down.

@Troodon, I replied via e-mail.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Sending in a new "batch" of lines.

Ohhh! I slapped my leg but it's actually my balls!- Hal.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Sent Scarecrow.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Sent an audition for the Penguin. A separate laughter track has been included in the e-mail, since you said:

Although you MUST be able to do his laughing thing fairly well.

Re: Batman: The Timeless Knight Casting call (Closed)

Sent my audition for Fire Fly. I tried to make him sound like Fire Fly in this clip from the 2004 Batman animated series.
