You can still have cool lighting with only one light, and in some situations, there is only one light source. Since films imitate real life, it makes sense to have one light set-ups for certain scenes, like this:

(As long as you're not counting Batman's head as a light source)

Yeah, I agree. Only using one light would be bad for shots that are suppose to be bright. With shots such as that (which is really awesome by the way) one light will due. As long as the shot looks good and realistic for what it's supposed to be, you can honestly use as many lights as you need.

I am guilty of this but only beacause my family is too busy for voicing and sometimes I don`t have time for casting calls Dino Escape for instance, I was only able to make it in 10 and a half hours (from 2:30 pm to 3:00 am)

The whole point of brickfilming is to have "bricks" in them. I dunno how that kid that won 2nd place in THAC 8 got away with it.

The Ghost of Mrs. Day studios: Home of mediocre brickfilms.

Make another thread for that, please.

58) I am sick of cliche'd violent plotlines that have nothing to them and are pretty darn offensive in my opinion. Like that road block film where the dude gets shot a huge hole in his torso... Ick.

I actually really enjoy the blends of live action and brickfilming, if it's done well. The thingy Namchild made to win THAC 8 was pretty goshdarn awesome.

Re: Things you don't want to see in a brickfilm.

I don't mind brickfilms with some live action. Just don't make it as to it's 25 seconds of stopmotion and 115 seconds of live action in a 2 minute film...NXTmaniac! mini/tongue

That's what I meant, of course scenes like that are awesome and need only one light. But I meant when it is meant to be daylight, with one light.

Re: Things you don't want to see in a brickfilm.

Why are some people in here against using other kinds of elements (live action, clay, etc.) in a brickfilm?

You guys are so closed minded, that kind of stuff can actually be entertaining and done well.

I think as long as something is creative and entertaining it's great. Try to go outside the box, even if that means using things other than bricks. I like to seeing films with creative solutions to animation/film problems that bricks couldn't solve. Live action can be used for a lot of things, and so can clay modifications. Just look at the Boyle brothers!

I must agree with Just Kidden, although they shouldn't overpower the main element in the film, bricks. I personally think that your mix between classic 2D animation and brickfilming is just right, none overpowering each other and being in perfect harmony.

If they're overused then the video just gets corny (or at least in my opinion).

What I mean is more along the lines of trying to force a meme into the conversation of your stereotypical dynamic duo. I agree, Brick Roll'D was incredibly awesome.
