Re: Webcam is a good choice?!?

Webcams are good for the brickfilming hobbyist, and I'm pretty sure most brickfilmers start out with a webcam. So I'd recommend getting a webcam, then later if you feel like you're really into brickfilming and want to invest a good amount of money into it, go buy a camera. A good camera for brickfilming will usually cost upwards of $500, whereas webcams cost between $50-$100. The Quickcam Pro 9000 is a little old school, but the quality is pretty good; I've had a webcam that's pretty much the same as the 9000 for several years, and I'm very happy with it; however, many people say that some of the newer models have better quality and whatnot, so you may want to wait on their expert opinion before deciding which webcam to buy. Also I'd imagine the newer models are easier to find.

Re: Webcam is a good choice?!?

Webcams are really good for brickfilmers since most have great quality and the price range is pretty good since most of us can't spend a lot of money into a new camera. If you have and are willing to buy a new camera you can go for it but webcams are great alternatives. Some good webcams to look out for are the 9000, C910, and the C920 in my opinion. Also make sure you look up the camera first, to see things that you should look for in a camera for stop motion. You can see them in the software and hardware section and you'll find a sticky on what to find in a webcam.

Re: Webcam is a good choice?!?

Webcams are great for brickfilming. They are small, and some of them have really good picture quality.
The one that I use is the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. It's relatively cheap, and can be bought on websites like amazon.com.

Re: Webcam is a good choice?!?

If you want to buy a camera, make sure that the camera is compatible with a remote control (or remote release).

Otherwise you should buy a webcam mini/wink
