@Mickey
Yep, ghostofmrsdaystudios got it right. Neither of the shanghai movies are it.
Another hint (a bland one).
Released in 2008.
Meet the Spartans
2008 release
A spoof of the movie 300.
Directed by Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer
Wow, this is crazy! I seriously thought I had picked from a fairly easy movie!
Anyway, nope, sorry Mickey. ![]()
The Forbidden Kingdom
2008
Jackie Chan
Jet Li
Wow, almost six days! Yep, Pillow finally got it! The Forbidden Kingdom, quite an entertaining movie in which Jackie Chan and Jet Li come together for the first time. In the frame, which is taken from a section in which the good guys take refuge from a storm in that cave, you can see Jackie Chan's character drinking by the fire and Jet Li is the one in white sitting back behind them all to the left.
Well, that frame stood for awhile. Take it away Pillow. ![]()

Yeah, I kind of figured. I have basically no knowledge of non-American films so I have no clue...
UZBEKISTAN: OUTLAWED
Made in Uzbekistan
About two Uzbekistani thieves
They are hounded by the Uzbekistani police
Nope.
Hint: The frame is from a flashback scene in the movie.
Taking a guess here.
The Butterfly Effect:
Lost memories
Ashton Kutcher
Directed by Eric Bress, J. Mackye Gruber
I don't generally enter this contest, but I just thought I would throw in the only film that looks anything like, I'm probably wrong. Is it
Bullhead
2011
Matthias Schoenaerts
Nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars
Haven't seen it (nor do I want to) so I'm acting on a guess.
Not that recent. Why do you have no interest in seeing it, though? It's excellent.
Reminds me of Orphan, however it's an american film.
