Hmm, a challenge I thought of was making a muzzle flash just by using normal Lego pieces no visual effects or anything.

That sounds like a good idea.
Since it's just been Easter, maybe the challenge could be something like growing flowers or some spring like
Theme.
What do you think about that?

An animation technique
It's when you move objects or the background to make something look like its moving.
Well, I'm going to get the challenge started. Unless you have any objections....
ANIMATION CHALLENGE: growing a plant.
Deadline, 18 of April 2012.
The animation can be anything from growing a flower to growing a tree.

Naaww, parallax scrolling sounds awesome...
Well, I think I'll just win this theme and set the next one to parallax scrolling. Anyway, growing a plant sounds pretty sweet too. 
Parallax scrolling would make a great theme.
I will start animating my entry tomorrow, in the meantime I'll prepare the set.
Ehhh. My problem with animation challenges like this one is that you'll almost never have a film in which a plant is growing quickly, as with the growing hair. But I digress; I won't be entering, but good luck to all who do!
