Topic: DragonFrame or iStopmotion (for Mac)?

Hello everybody, I'm new (brand new, to be exact!) to this community, although I have observed the going ons of this website in the past... mini/shifty

I want to get started with brickfilming, put I'm hitched on whether to dish out $500 for the easy, likeable, mac-based format of iStopmotion (pro version for HD), or succumb to the cheaper, yet complicated and unfamiliar layout of DragonFrame. I just wish you could get an educational discount on iStopmotion Pro! So I'll ask you guys, the more experienced members of the community!! Please answer... I need to decide!

If you haven't started brickfilming yet, you should start out using Frame by Frame, which is free. If you get more advanced and want to take it further, then I recommend DragonFrame.

@Fat Cat Films... I've tried Frame by Frame... an utterly useless program with only the most basic features! Thanks for the suggestion though! Can you please answer my question though? edit: I misread your post, you answered my question... much appreciated!

You'll probalby won't get ANY answers where users can compare BOTH products. Users have made their choice and didn't buy both.

Myself, I started out with iStopmotion HOME and found that while it has the basics, the lack of support for higher definition resolution made me wanting something better. After that it simply became a matter of price. Dragon is cheaper and don't be fooled by it's complexity: it is a VERY good and powerful program, with lot's of features that I'll probably never use.
