Topic: Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 Help

I have been using the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 for quite a while now, but i just took a look at some films that were made with it, and I realized I should be getting much better image quality. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get better pictures out of my camera? Here is a sample http://imgur.com/CNQPd and here is a screenshot of the settings used to take that picture http://imgur.com/rJKGo

Any help is much appreciated mini/smile

First off you need good lighting - you should have at least 3 lamps. If you're using MonkeyJam, make sure the picture size is at least 640x480, I see you are using a lower quality, which doesn't look very good most of the time.

If your computer is fast enough, boost the frame size to 1280x1024, which is what I use.

Instead of zooming in, zoom out as far as possible and move the camera closer to the set.

Thank you all for all your help.

Also, my camera is set to 8 MP or 1600 x 1200

Have everything set to auto, then change it to manual, keeping everything the same except focus.

I respectfully disagree with everything but the focus (which your right on). Try to minimize gain and use exposure instead but that only slightly improves, usually you want the camera to do as little as possible to alter the image, you want the majority of the changes to occur naturally and in post-production.

Re: Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 Help

I mostly get the lighting right where I want it and the camera captures it perfectly if I do it my way.

Make sure it's plugged into the best USB slot on your PC. I know my laptop has two types of USB slots.
