Great, except for the instant fadeout to black.
Hey guys, I wanted to ask AdSense users their experience with TrueView In-stream Ads. It has been my opinion up until recently that they would probably hurt my audience for a only a small gain. I then found out that a lot of my videos already have the TrueView ads turned on by default and I wasn't even aware of it. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the TrueView ads on them or turn them off. And if I decide to keep them, should I turn them on for my newer videos too? Let me know your experiences and thoughts, thanks!
I would keep them on unless you really get complaints about them. I don't find them all that irritating, except for the Dutch ones. I have them turned on, but only on lengthy videos because I had them turned on once on a video of 3 seconds and the ad was twice as long! To sum it up, Use them on long videos unless you get a lot of comlaints.
The True View Ads Give you 10 cents according to my friend. The ads Kinda Depend On your region you live in so when i go see ads on like a Insurance ad that's in my country, the others cannot see the ad overseas.so i would keep them true view ads anyway.
The other thing i want to say is does YouTube partner have like some sort of fee to get in?
I'm not ready for YouTube partner but i'm just saying.

I'm fairly certain that there is no cut and dry answer as to how much any of the ads make. Google doesn't release that kind of info, and it differs. As far as the Partner Program goes, there is not a fee to become one.

10 subs and 3 views away from 100 views..... ah, the joys of a new channel....
I don't know what about you guys but it seems like my channel is getting back on it's feet after the Cosmic Panda fiasco. I'm not saying it's back where it was but it certainly is getting better in comparison to the views I was getting in March.

According to the help page (or the forums, I forget) the ads give an average of 1 cent per 100 views and 27 cents per click on an ad. The number can vary, just like the end income. If the advertiser and Youtube make a different deal with the amount they need to pay your already earned money from that advertisement changes (I've lost 10 cents because of that).
Just wondering, when you guys think is the best time to upload videos to YT?
I would assume you mean when will get you the most views right
?
Well if that's the case, I would upload them sometime in the mid to late afternoon when most people are off work/school.
If that's not what you meant...well... I must be really confused then.

I've heard that the weekend is a good time. Because people aren't doing school, homework, or working. ![]()

If you have tons of subscribers, it doesn't really matter because they'll get to know anyway. If you're posting your film on BiM, people will be aware of the new post in the forums, and watch you film. So I don't think it really matters.

Don't bother to read the answers such as "Anytime"
it's completely ignorant. First of all check your views per day (last month's or this year's) and check which day of the week is the most viewed? Mine is always Saturday, it's the day when I get the most traffic.
Next, check your subscriber demographics. Which nationality people are mostly subscribed to you? U.S.A. most probably, that would mean you should upload videos on Saturdays when it's 13:00 PM - 18:00 PM in U.S.A. preferably Eastern Time but I guess Western would do the thing too ![]()

Yeah, I have noticed my views going up on the weekends, just wanted to get some more opinions. After thinking about it, I think I will try to begin uploading my videos on Friday afternoon, or as you mentioned, Saturday.
I believe that the "YT personal digest" (weekly) is sent out sunday or monday, so friday or sat would be a good day so that if your planing to realize vids each week u don't end up with one in week one, none in week two and two in week three.....

When I went to upload a short test video yesterday, YouTube notified me that I had been approved to upload videos longer than 15 minutes. Is this common? I thought only partners could do that. I'm hoping this is just a small step towards my goal of partnership.
It's normal, I think. Everyone can extend the 15 minute line by confirming their channel in the account settings. You do that by giving them your phone number.

If you've been around Youtube for a while and you've not done anything wrong then you'll be able to do that. It's sort of like the community forum here accept it's easier to get access and it's about upload time and not about maturity!
