Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Here is a bedroom, focusing mainly on the bed, I made it with a shelf at the back. Critique would be appreciated. mini/yes

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

The dark grey plate looks a bit dirty and 3-4 white bricks are a bit yellow, but aside from that I think it looks great mini/smile

Hope you like it mini/smile

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Roger, I envy your having that torso, but that's beside the point. mini/mrgreen

The yellow-y bricks aren't that bad, but you need to do something about the gray brick, the brick with the holes in it, the one covered in what used to be a sticker. Also, you need to add a stripe somewhere in it that's a different color. (Blue would look good.) It breaks up the white wall, and just makes it look a lot better. mini/wink

I would change the computer desk to tan or brown, and make it four studs wide, and remove the red thingie over by the bed, as that color isn't repeated anywhere else, and it seems out of place. And speaking of color, if you want the bedroom "carpet" dark gray, you should have all of it that color, meaning remove the 1X4 light gray tile in the back left of the pic. A good color scheme would be: Dark gray floor, white wall with blue stripe, everything else white or light gray, and some blue trim in places.

As to the bed, this is one of the best beds that I've seen, but if you can't do that try this one. You really need some kind of slope on the side to simulate the blanket, and the light gray tiles at the bottom need to be removed. The shelf is good, but you may want to take out a brick as it looks too tall, and change the top plate to light gray.

Chirochibechirt, it looks good, and the tiled floor looks nice, but animating on a smooth surface will be fun, and it being as small as it is won't help much. You may want to expand the set at least four studs to give a little more animating room. mini/wink
Other than that, it looks great!

And if anyone is wondering why I didn't upload a pic of Pew 2.0, it's because I'm running out of time, and just had to go ahead and film those scenes with the first design. I'm sorry about that, but I've only got a week left to finish the movie, and my camera's acting up, so I just have to make do with what I can. mini/sad I'll try to do better next time!

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Thanks, but it was just a test room. I will spruce it up a bit for a video. Thanks for the tips!

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Rogeralans, for some reason when I see your set it makes me think of one of them MRI or CAT scan things and the dude's shirt doesn't really help... Maybe change it up so it doesn't look so... sterile...

Ah, well, who knows? No just kidding... As I said I'm making it more homely for him, and I will edit the bed. I'll make a better tank top to if it looks like that. Thanks, I'd better get to work.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Doesn't look too bad. I sure hope there's an explanation for that piece in the front, it seems out of place without any idea of what the story is.

It's the windshield.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Hmmmm that's a rather odd windshield, if I may say so.... Not that it's necessarily bad, but it's the most unorthodox windshield I've ever seen.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I myself love the use of that container thing from the old Creator sets. I've been looking for opportunities to use those and they are very difficult to work with.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I too like your use of the pod, but overall the color scheme leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Yes, maybe go for a light gray with a blue stripe?

So yeah, I'm back from my mind.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I like it, it has sort of a trashy quality to it, especially the top one. One thing you could do to make it look more authentic would be to have some lego trash strewn about, not too much, and not so that it will get in the way of the minifigs, just to make it look like a 'bad part of town'.

Don't be fooled, my avatar is a facade of conformity.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

That's a good ideal mini/smile i added a trash can next to the cat after i took the picture, i think i have 4 or 5 more i could use.

I like it, it looks more like a dining room then a kitchen though.
