Topic: Canon PowerShot G5

Hey guys, I have an opportunity to buy a Canon PowerShot G5. Do any of you use this camera?
I was looking at it's focus and it doesn't look like it has manual focus. I'm wondering if you guys know or not. If it doesn't I'm not sure I want to buy it since if I get any camera I want it to be good for brickfilming.:P Tell me what you think, guys. mini/smile

If you got a powershot, I'd be overwhelmed with jealousy. mini/tongue

Re: Canon PowerShot G5

I dont think it has MF. Ill check DPReview.

EDIT:

If it's the 2003 model G5, then it does have MF according to DPR.

Now how I get rid of the annoying square in the middle of the screen?

btw, the reason I have the camera right now, is because the person who is selling it let me check it out at home to see if I wanted to buy it or not. mini/smile

Re: Canon PowerShot G5

Do you will use the cam for brickfilming?
Just try if it works with CSMC.
If, so there is nothing against to buy it.

The G5 is on the compatible-list with CSMC ( http://bricktrick.de/index-e-digicam.php )
CSMC is a wonderful software to capture the pic via remote-controll - but only for windows.
And in CSMC you have all controlls about Makro/Focus, etc...

Those are the four most horrible words in the English language.

Yeah, I have a mac.

Re: Canon PowerShot G5

That white square..

Canon compacts often chuck out squares to show what focus points they're using. As you're in MF, it's showing that. Maybe. Does it show it in all modes?

I would take a look at Dragon Stop Motion, and if you like it, you may be willing to shell out the cash. mini/wink

I think so, I'll check again.
Also, clicking "Display" doesn't do a thing. mini/confused

Woah, thanks man, for showing me this. It looks interesting, and it's compatible with my mac. mini/bigsmile
I might buy it if I like, I've been meaning to update my frame capturing software.
