Topic: Vintage 35mm SLR Lenses

I've been researching / looking into purchasing some vintage 35mm SLR lenses to adapt to a Canon DSLR camera (the 60D, specifically).

I was wondering if anyone else has tried any, and what the results were.

From what I've read, people have been getting good results from Takumar, Carl Zeiss, Jupiter, Helios, Mir, Fujinon, Vivitar, Pentax, and Yashica lenses.

I'm specifically looking for something really wide for the Canon 60D that isn't a fisheye lens, and accounts for the 1.6x crop factor, and some mid-range lenses. (16mm, 20mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, etc.)

I'll update with what I find. Planning on hitting up some local pawn shops / camera stores to see what they have in stock. mini/smile

I have a set of Pentacon lenses: a 2.8/29mm and a 1.8/50mm and these work just fine for me! I use these with a Canon EOS 1000D. I imagine they would work the same for a 60D.

BTW, good luck finding cheap lenses for 20mm or wider... Haven't found an affordable one where I live...

Nice; I've heard those are good lenses.

The cheapest 20mm lens I've found on eBay is the Nikkor 20mm F2.8 for $220. It's a really good price, but not something I can afford right now.

What I really want is the Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 lens, but it's $700 retail and wouldn't be future-proof for a full-frame sensor.

I guess a 24mm is the cheapest wide-angle lens I'll be purchasing.

I get good results from my 50mm f/1.7 smc Pentax-A. They're relatively inexpensive too, so I'd recommend that as far as standard primes go.

Getting an old really wide lens going to be expensive however, and with the crop factor in there too, your standard 18-55 kit is going to be wider.
