Topic: Halp! Looking for new lens

A week or so ago my old camera broke, and I bought a new one(an Olympus PEN EPL1) which just arrived. I was dissapointed and a little frustrated to learn that the stock 14-42mm lens won't focus unless your about 4 or five inches away from the subject, which is very bad for close-ups of minifigs. So I'm now looking for a lens that can handle macro shot, but don't want to pay more than $200.

This is the only thing I've found so far that might work for me:

If your going to buy a close-up lens, you'll have to end up paying $500-$1000. They aren't cheap. And the 30mm on amazon is a little wide so you won't be able to get very close shots of your minifigs.

You could also purchase an older, manual focus, prime lens with an M42 screw-on mount and then get an adapter for your Olympus camera.

eBay search for Macro lenses*

Amazon search for M42 -> Olympus adapters

*You can also find older, vintage lenses like that at local pawn shops, camera stores, etc. Sometimes they're dirt cheap. Watch out for quality brand names (Zeiss, Takumar, Vivitar, Helios, Mir, Pentacon, Nikon, Canon, etc.)
