Topic: Help for finding mic

After a very long break, I'm going to return to animating, and I am hoping to get better at it over the next couple of months. A while ago, I broke my microphone and will need a new one, and I was wondering what is the best one to animate with.

Back after taking a VERY FREAKING long break. 14 months, I believe. Anyways I'm going to be making films again. Much better ones.

Re: Help for finding mic

Which one did you previously use?
I use a Logitech USB Desktop mic, and it works fine for me.
A lot of brickfilmers use the Blue Snowball, but I personally think that is quite pricey.

Re: Help for finding mic

I use the Rockband mic, the one thing that's bad is the cord is SOOOO long.  Other then that very good mic, you can most likely can find one on ebay or amazon.com (amazon will have a higher price then ebay).

I used the logitech oem pc 860 stereo microphone. I was looking at it again since it's 20 pound off at amazon at the moment.

The Logitech USB Desktop mic is around that price.

Re: Help for finding mic

I use Quickcam Pro 9k microphone, people say it's bad but if you manage to isolate the background noise by putting the camera into a box or something and then edit a little with audacity the quality is just as good as any other microphone's.

Re: Help for finding mic

I use a Turtle Beach X 11 (gaming headset)  the quality is great and it's comfortable. It's a great multi-purpose mic if your into gaming.  I got mine for $20 (bought it off my brother).  It's an older model and i don't think they sell them in stores anymore but i did some checking on ebay and most of them were under $50.

I just need three more actors for my new film, check the casting call here.

If your looking for something cheap the rockband mic is great!

Re: Help for finding mic

I'm probably just going to get the mic I had previously. I have another problem though. I have never had any decent recording software. So, what's a good recording software?

Re: Help for finding mic

Audacity, that's the one I use and it's grate.  Takes a bit one getting used to, but after that it's very easy to use( and it's FREE!!!!!)

Re: Help for finding mic

I could never get used to Audacity. I guess I could give it another go.
