Topic: Unit 4 (Script)
This is the script for a film project that will be going into production soon.
SCRIPT
Unit 4
SCENE 1
EXT.HIGHWAY.MORNING
Just out side of Walla-Walla Washington. Car stops on the side of the road. Polices car stops just off camera, Richard gets out, walks over to the ether car.
RICHARD
License please.
Man gives him his license.
RICHARD
Sr. do you know now fast you were going?
MAN 1
I wasn’t going that fast, I swear. I was only go 75mp at the most.
(LAST SENTINS MOFELD)
RICHARD (V.O.)
The same thing over and over, all day long. People think they can speed just because there in the middle of no were. Oh my name is Richard Pritchard. I’m one of the 3 Police officer out hear in Walla-Walla Washington. I’m the only state patrol officers out thought. This is all I do 24-7, catch speeders.
SCENE 2
INT.POLICE STATION LUNCH ROOM.NOON
In the lunch room Peter is eating a donut and drinking coffee. Richard walks in grabs some food and coffee. Walk and sits down by Peter
PETER
Well if it isn’t unit 4 him self. How’s the life of highway patrol doing for you?
RICHARD
Good, but I hate it so much. It’s the same thing over and over again.
PETER
Well you’ve done more then I’ve done today. All I’ve done is help some one find there cat, talk about fun.
RICHARD
Ha, were did you find it?
PETER
Up in a tree, had to clime the tree to get it. And when I got to it, it jumped down.
RICHARD
Well……. (INTERRUPTED BY PAGER BEEPS)
PAGER (O.S.)
All units, code 4, a high speed chase on highway 8, escaped convict heading for Idaho.
PETER
Well, it looks like were going to get the fun you were talking about!
RICHARD
Yup, looks like we are.
SCENE 3
EXT.HIGHWAY.NOON
Peter and Richard speed with light flashing, towards the scene of the chase. They pass many cars on the way.
RICHARD
Units 4, in on his way, ready partner?
PETER
I sure am, buddy
Cars catch up with the speeder. Helicopter is flying just above the speeder.
HELICOPTER PIOLOT
Unit 4 and unit 3 are catching up with him. He’s going at least 100mp.
RICHARD
Were right on his tail.
PETER
I’m going to try to ram him.
RICHARD
I got your back.
Peter’s car hit’s the speeder’s car; speeder swerves and hits another car.
RICHARD
We’ve got the stop him before some one gets hurt.
PETER
I know, but he’s going to fast, we can’t get up to him.
RICHARD
I’m going to give it a shot!
Richard speeds up to the speeder, gets right on his side.
RICHARD
I’m going to hit his side, Peat, try to pin his front.
PETER
Okay, what’s your plan?
RICHARD
To pin him on his side, and slow him down.
Both cars hit the speeder, spinning him; Peter’s car hits the front of the car, stopping the spin half way threw. All three of the cars are still driving down the highway. A buss comes in to sight.
RICHARD
BUSS!!!!!
(FADE TO BLACK)
SCENE 4
EXT.HIGHWAY.EVINING
After the buss hits the cars, there is a heap of car and buss. Richard is standing next the ambulance; the speeder gets put in the ambulance. Peter walks up the Richard.
PETER
Well, were lucking we could walk after that one.
RICHARD
You can say that again.
PETER
Well, looks like you got your fun, am I right?
The chef walks up the Peter and Richard.
CHEF
Well, that was on way to end a day. And Richard looks like you’re the one that stopped him, am I right?
RICHARD
It was Peter and me, but thanks for thinking so.
CHEF
Well, I think there might be a promotion in it for you, Pritchard.
RICHARD
Thank you sir.
Chef walks away living Peter and Richard by them self. Peter looks at Richard.
PETER
So, it looks like your going to get to go to the city in the end.
RICHARD
I….I think I’m going to stay, this place grows on you.

RICHARD

The bus hit all three of the cars, smashing them.

Well, it looks like your dream will come true after all. This promotion will give you the chance to go to the big city....And leave this little town behind.
RICHARD
Yes, but....I think I'm going to stay here.
PETER
What? But I thought that you hated it here.
RICHARD
Well...You see, I think this place has grown on me, and...I think I'll be happier here, than in the city.
PETER
Does that mean I could go instead?
(SCREEN GOES BLAKC)
RICHARD (O.S)
Ummm...I don't think so.
PETER (O.S)
