My last video was not approved. Might have been because of the sound effects I had... or it could have been due to the "newness" of the video when I applied and the fact that I had robot chicken in the tags...:/
I doubt the "newness" of the video has anything to do with it cause I now apply for monetization for each video as soon as I upload it. But perhaps the tags I put on it could've affected it. Anyone have any experience with tags in this area?

Possibly, also when you monetized it did you credit the songs/footage? Did you put "I have all the rights to the footage/sound effects in the description box (Not the description itself but the box that you need to fill in when you monetize something)? If not then there's probably your problem. Otherwise I really dont know.

try changing the tags i think that might be the cause of the problem i dont think it has something to do with the sound effects

Everytime I upload a video with Kevin MacLeod's music I get rejected (no monetization) even though I did provide a quote of his that youtube partners can use the music for monetization and I even provide youtube a link to that f.a.q. nothing happens
could that be ur situation too?

That's odd. Youtube accepts mine, even with Kevin Macleod's music.
Hmm, I used his music in 'Bounce', and it was okay.
All I did was say who made the music at the end of the video in the credits. It should be fine. ![]()
Will monetization put at ad next to, or in the video?

It depends on what you select in the options, but if you have a video that's monetized, ads will always appear outside the video on the right above the suggested videos column. Hope that helps. ![]()
I got rejected on 1 video about a week ago and I tried an appeal where I provided more information but I have never heard anything back. Any insight from experienced users on how long this could take?
Hmm, I know someone who had the same problem. It took 3 months for him. I have however, heard that it can vary, though I'm not sure.

Hmm... interesting. Oh well, it's no big deal. Thanks for sharing!

So I just discovered that someone had copied and re-uploaded my latest animation using the same title, tags, and description except they included a download link. Needless to say, I filed to have it removed. Has this happened to anyone else?

Never happened to me before but that is so lame!
P.S. I have re-entered my videos featuring Kevin MacLeod's music and now the ads finally show up ![]()

No, but that must be irritating. Also I don't see the point in doing such thing (copying video, not filing it). The person will almost always get hate. Plus it's annoying and it's time wasting.

Yeah, what I have deduced is that this person is trying to spread a virus. The reason I say this is because the only change in the video description is that he or she included a "download" link at the top that looks very suspicious, so I'm assuming that once this link is clicked on, a virus or malware would be installed. Still very odd that out of all videos one of mine would be used. It's not like I'm very well known or something. ![]()
