Topic: Best Lightning?

Hello everybody! I was wondering what the best lightning is.. I want to get a lightning like mnmtwinz or ZachFBStudios.. If anyone know what type of lightning I need, then please answer to this topic. I want to buy new lights but I don't know which and how I got the lightning/quality like mnmtwinz! Thank you!

Re: Best Lightning?

For stable lighting, a three or four lamp setup is recommended. It looks like mnmtwinz uses three lamps, but I can't say for certain; I recommend a four lamp setup, but that's because I use large sets. You really only need basic desk lamps, with a piece of paper taped over it so the light is somewhat evenly distributed. Just make sure that you don't tape the paper too close to the lightbulb! I'd recommend lamps like this or this.

Re: Best Lightning?

Okay thanks! One thing: What kind of light bulb do I have to put in to get the quality like mnmtwinz. Like they got a nice white light.

Re: Best Lightning?

You should not use Soft White bulbs - they make black bars on the screen (as seen in the Pirate scene in this video of mine).
I use Reveal bulbs, but most bulbs should work. (Of course, excluding soft white ones).

Re: Best Lightning?

I use three Reveal bulbs, not covered by paper, and sometimes I get those black bars as well.
I think the camera settings have a lot to do with it, and not as much the bulbs.

Re: Best Lightning?

If I remember right (haven't animated properly in awhile) there is some setting on Logitech webcams to remove light flicker also I found turning down the exposure and raising the brightness tends to solve some flickering. Oh and defusing the light with paper. Also try positioning your lights (I use 2 desk lamps and a floor lamp) in differant positions, I found some YouTube video that really helped... But I can't remember what it's called mini/sad
