Topic: Are Lego Sets Gender Stereotypical?

I thought about this many times before, but until now I really didn't think about it until I saw this great video duo.
I do believe and have always believed Lego was being gender stereotypical, and I do believe the new friends line is a waste of money, marketing, and is probably going to be taken out in a year or so so Lego can prove it can't market toward girls.
This did bring interest toward Lego products and the possibility of altering it's marketing toward a more unisex way of advertising. It's pathetic to think that the only way to to break a gender stereotype is to build a whole new compound just for the other gender.
What do you think?

In making the film that I'm making now I've needed a lot of different distinct female characters, but I discovered that character design for female characters is really really hard. I'm limited to about three different heads. I'm not sure what that says about LEGO's minifig designers, given the vast array of male heads on offer by comparison.

It's probably true that there is a bias towards male minifigs in Lego, but I infer that this is because girls haven't really expressed a significant interest towards the stuff (at least with the demented statistics LEGO is using currently)
Think about it. All toys are sexist. Except maybe like Pokemon or something, but even so. My point still remains.

If this is a waste of money on TLC's part, then they lose some money. It doesn't affect us as consumers, so what's the point in arguing over it?
