I'm just wandering, should I sort my Lego bricks? If so, how should I sort them?

Yes. I use storage bins and bags and they work great: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mightywand 654078695/
I'd recommend it! I just began sorting my collection recently. I think it will dramatically cut down on time trying to find certain bricks. Here is a post from my blog with some pictures and ideas if you'd like: http://repellingspider.blogspot.com/201 rting.html

Thanks I thought it would be a good idea.
it make it alot faster to build
I did it a long time ago. It took me a whole Sunday, but it was a worthy investment. Totally worth doing if you have sets to build.
As for stuff to sort them into, flat toolboxes are really useful. Here's what I use:
mod edit - don't quote images
could I use bags?

Bags will work (I use them for some things), but obviously boxes would be better. As of right now I could not afford purchasing anymore organization and storage boxes so I took several that I already had and then improvised from there with whatever I had (bags, shoeboxes, other containers, etc) As Hazzat said, it is time consuming. In the end though I think its well worth the effort.
My LEGOs took all summer to sort.
I'm having trouble keeping them that way parshly because I share them with two brothers
but it has helped immensely I would defenetly recommend it.

I have one brother that I have toy share with:rolleyes: But we have are owe LEGO
I personally use some Transparent boxes form IKEA, they stack nicely, fits neatly on my shelf and have a good capacity. For smaller things such as tiles and minifigs, i have 2 little sort of cupboard like things which engineers usually keep screws and bits in.
I just got dun sorting my Legos
May I ask why you pulled arms off torsos and legs off of the waists? This seems a bit extreme (to me, at least) as pulling and stuffing them back on tends to weaken the bond of the arm joints. I've had a waist pin break on me a couple of times from not having the leg lined up right. These two parts of the minifigure are the most vulnerable and susceptible to breakage.
Other than that - it looks like you've done a good job sorting.
Have fun,
Jared

It dose weaken them a bit, but I have not had a problem so far(and I have sorted my minefigs before).
i usually would'nt remove them unless you are going to custom them, otherwise just leave em be
try this! (I think you can get them for cheaper at other places http://www.amazon.com/Blip-Toys-Lego-So B004E7T2SQ
Yes, I think you should sort them. One box for each color, and boxes for minifigure parts for instance.
