Topic: The War Heroes

Ever since I saw movies like "Platoon"; "Black Hawk Down" and brickfilms like "Hold the lines" or "River" I've decided to give it a shot and make my own war flick. "The War Heroes" is an action comedy film about war.

Basic plot:
One of the last USA's struggles not to lose the Vietnam war. A black ops squad is assembled, these guys are called "Hell's Dogs" their mission is to cross the enemy lines and find the location of north Vietnam's weapon supplies (and of course destroy).

Squad:
Sgt. Lucious Harris (nickname sgt. Lucifer) a really tough guy, leader of the pack.
***Lucifer is a reference to Lego Clan brickfilms main villain Lucifer.

Pvt. Andrew Wilson - young soldier yet a pretty skilled warrior. Likes to tell stupid dirty jokes.

Pvt. Frank van Goors (nickname Dutch) - a violent man, natural born killer.
***Dutch is a reference to Arnold Schwarzenegger's character from "The Predator"

Pvt. Eli Banks - the 'smart guy' who always talks how black people are discriminated in USA. (yes he is African American)

Pvt. John Elias - second in command in this squad. A good soldier and a very bright guy too.
***Elias is a reference to Sgt. Elias from "Platoon" a character played by Willem Dafoe. John is like a brother of Elias yet this will not make a big difference (I'll probably mention it once in the script).

Ok, so far that's it guys mini/smile gonna work on the script, cause right now it's really rough. Let me know what you think about this project.

Re: The War Heroes

You should also watch 'Saints and Soldiers'. It's about WWII and it's really good!

Wrong war.

This to me sounds like a historical version of Red Vs. Blue, despite the one-sidedness of it. I'd recommend doing some research on the Vietnam war during the Nixon years (1968-1974) and its effects State-side to accurately construct the characters' personalities.

Re: The War Heroes

Sounds cool,  How much action is there going to be?  Or is it going to be more of a comedy film?

Well the main genres are Action/Comedy and maybe just maybe a little drama mini/smile

Re: The War Heroes

Personally I think War films are overdone and glorified. Either make a serious one or don't.

Sorry for sounding harsh, but it's just getting on my nerves recently, you've done nothing wrong. mini/sad

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

Re: The War Heroes

War (no matter which one) is one of the most hurtful topics in the history of human kind, so many people dead, so many lives ruined, honestly I respect your opinion but I really don't get it. I'm glad there are so many great war-related movies like Platoon or Schindler's list, as far as my film goes I just want it to be entertaining, but don't get me wrong it's not going to be a war/comedy where a few US soldiers are shooting hundreds of Vietnamese soldiers. This film will be sarcastic, satirical, it won't glorify any nation, it will show the ugliness of humans as we are very violent and cruel beings (not everyone I mean but there are so many sick bast**ds in this world).

P.S. even the The War Heroes title is sarcastic since they are just a bunch of murdering psychos. What kind of hero is that.

Say what? Sure, the nazis may have been forced to murder, but they are still the villains. Besides, you wouldn't have both sides...that would make for a boring movie.

Also, I think you read my comment incorrectly. I meant the movie 'Saints and Soldiers' is set in World war II.
