Topic: Filming help,figuring out FPS.

Help please.
I am have been a big BIM for awhile watching quietly in the background.
Now I want to make a video but am confused with FPS and how to figure it out.
Someone told me to divide 1 into the frame rate I want to do and the frame rate I choose Ie 15, 16, 24 0e 32 is the amount of pictures per shot I have to take.
I would really like the advice of more seasoned film makers please.
Any help would be great.
Thank you.
Look forward to your replies.

Re: Filming help,figuring out FPS.

I'm not sure if I'm classified as a "seasoned" brickfilmer, but I'll take a shot at it.

I'll translate this to the most basic format:
FPS stands for Frames Per Second. So, say you are animating at 15 FPS, there would be 15 pictures a second. I would suggest watching this tutorial.

That's all I got for now, tell me if you need anything else.
Oh, and welcome to BiM. mini/smile

Re: Filming help,figuring out FPS.

What you will want to do is first, choose 1 particular frame rate and stick with it. Generally, 12FPS or 15FPS is what works great for brickfilms. "FPS" stands for "Frames Per Second", and is basically the number of images you need to take to fill up 1 second of your film (so in our case, either 12 or 15 frames would do).

If you want to import your images one by one, then you will need to know how long one frame should be on the screen. In this case, divide 1 by the FPS: 1 / 12 (or 1 / 15). This gives you a number of 0.0833 seconds per frame (or 0.06667 seconds). Most animation software have a setting for FPS that automatically gives your frames the right length, though, so I don't think you really need to know how many seconds per frame you need.
