animate a minifigure walking/running etc on a smooth surface.

um, I'm not sure it's that similar, there are roads involved but that's about where the similarities end...I said your minifigure can be run over.. if you want.
this challenge is about your minifig crossing a busy road, not necessarily being run over.

Maybe just walking on a smooth surface will be better.
That is a good idea. Smooth surfaces always look best, but it's a pain to animate. I think that challenge would get us off our flanks to animate something genuinely useful for every single film that could be made.
Another great challenge I can't enter... 
But thefourmonkeys should make another Brick Idiots episode for this.
Your busy road can be smooth...
The challenge lies in manipulating multiple objects on camera going different speeds. This can also be used in every single film that could be made. I like the idea animationIsaac.
