The point of this thread is public reporting of spam bots.
I think the mods keep it open because it's easy to see reports, instead of reading through other reports.
As they can see when there's a new post, they can check if it's a report.
No, it's for noobs to complain/freak out about spambots. There is already an easy to spot reporting button that's very effective. I agree with Coyote Creek, this thread is pretty much pointless.

I can assure you it is far easier for the mods to read the moderator report page than to come here, it's left open because this thread will die down in due course.
I'm not to sure about that, Hoogle. As more and more newer members join the site, some are bound to see a spambot or two, freak out about it, find this thread, and post in it. I say close it now.
I like reading about spambots!
I thought this thread was for discussing the actions being taken against spambots besides banning them one by one. Like, higher security, etc.
