I got a letter from YouTube today saying:
"Your YouTube account funmiproductions might be eligible to earn revenue from the playbacks of your videos.
Making money from your videos is easy. Here's how it works: First sign into your YouTube account. Then review and complete the steps outlined here: http://www.youtube.com/account_monetiza … ture=ieqe.
If your account is enabled, we may place ads next to the videos you submit for monetization. You will earn a share of the revenue from the ads as long as you meet the program requirements."
Then they say I have to be 18 or older. So, how can I place ads on my videos now?!
You need your parents to sign up for a google adsense acount I think it is. It's pretty hard to make a lot of money though, it'll take a little while to add up. And congrats, that's a pretty awesome accomplishment!
I do this every year, every year I make a montage of all the brickfilms I made over the past year. I realize how lame of a year this was for me in terms of brickfilming (but I don't want to have a life!!)

Did it have copyrighted material? Because if it was JUST you films I don't see why Youtube would remove it.
Well, yes. I put a rick roll in at the very end. But it was only a few seconds why should that be significant at all?

Also, I thought you were able to have 30 seconds or less?
And why are people able to upload copyrighted music (without any self-created material, mind you?) with no squelching?
And people such as NXTManiac able to upload things like Viva la Vida which is ALL copyrighted music?

EDIT: What about Fair Use laws? It's not like I have adsense and am earning moneys off their music... What about this?
There is a counter-claim form that you can file with YouTube. This tutorial should show you how to file it.
I would suggest you stay away from copyrighted material even if some other brickfilmers are pulling it off (just like the Viva La Vida situation).
P.S. To partners mostly, did you guys also had a decrease in profit in December? Mine dropped about 30% and I was wondering if it's just me or the Christmas and New Year holidays made people too busy to watch brickfilms.

Well, my Dad has a youtube acount, so he signed up with adsense. The only problem now is: How do I put the ads on my videos? My dad and I don't know.

You're like supposed to press monetize on your videos if you are youtube partner. And you must own 100% copyright (no exceptions) of that video, only then you can monetize it. Go to "video manager", you should see the monetize button.

Where it says Click here to try the new channels design, they added this: All channels will be updated to the new design on March 1st 2012.
I have to wonder why
I do like the modern feal of the new design but it lacks the customability that the traditional on has.
