Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Doesn't that wear down the battery? If you have found a way to incorporate it through those electrical pieces that came with the earlier sets, that's something i would like to look into.

This is meant to be an out-of-town road with a bank/ditch on one side.  I'm working with limited bricks which is why it looks a bit patchy

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Looks decent. I like the background for an out-of-town road. I also like the variation of floor (as I'm guessing that's supposed to show how the floor has aged.) However, the thing that stands out to me is that there is just one tree in a random spot. Now, I understand that this is a road, and that the tree is on the side? This set needs more than just a background, so I would advise that you add more than one tree, and try and add other features to the road mini/wink. Other than that the road part looks pretty good mini/smile.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

That's a nice start to a room, for sure. I'd suggest first off changing either the wall or the floor color, or at the very least adding a stripe of a different color at the bottom of the wall, to separate the wall from the floor. Then you should probably raise the table and put chairs in, I'd suggest using a stud on the bottom of the chairs to make them swivel (alternatively you could use a swivel piece, but I find that a stud makes it look more realistic). Finally I'd add some papers to the table, maybe a plant (but that depends on the shots you're planning on taking) or a short centerpiece (neither are necessary, and it all depends on where the meeting room is), and for the man in front, possibly a podium or screen/whiteboard behind him.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

@LSP: I'd say push the bricks closer together so there are no gaps where light can enter. Also I feel the design is a bit plain, add some different colors like shades of green maybe?

And if that doesn't work, you could put a black piece of paper behind the bricks. (That's what I do)

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Looks pretty awesome. Although I think you could maybe edit the bed a bit, maybe doing something like I did following a tutorial:

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I actually like Eddie's bed better. I don't know of any blankets that are that......poofy.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Poofy beds are one of my downfalls. mini/cat I will BY NO MEANS even CONSIDER liking a film with poofy blankets!

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Mighty Wanderer the mech doesn't look too bad, I just hope it's not for a Star Wars brickfilm because mech's are in no way even hinted at in the movies on the Rebel side, and the design you have isn't very Rebel-oriented. On the mech itself, I'd suggest bulking up the legs quite a bit because of how large and bulky the body is, and for the feet you might want to add inverse slope bricks on the other side as well.

Eddie the room doesn't look too bad overall; that being said, after staring at that picture for a few minutes (I have no life apparently), I do have a few minor problems. The white walls are fine, the blue stripe looks good, but the yellow window is very out of place. Also the shelf colors don't match with anything else. You don't want too many colors for a room (I kinda like interior design, apparently), especially if you have things not matching with each other. Of course I don't know how much of this film takes place in that room, but with the minifig having about 8 different colors on him, the red chair, the brown desk, the black footboard on the bed.... It's a tad bit too busy. I'd suggest changing that window, but if that's not possible, at least the shelf and the footboard, and possibly make the chair yellow to tie together the flag, window frame, and chair. But these are minor things of course, overall the layout of the room is very good, and I'm pleasantly surprised at the shelf up there mini/smile
