I think the setup could really work, perhaps even as the format of a short series. Everytime a young person walks up, says something kind, nice, appreciative of senior citizens, and the grumpy old man makes a sudden evil, snappy, cynic but fitting and witty response. It's success would heavily depend on the quality of the responses, though.

Something else is that it would probably mainly appeal to mean-spirited older people (like me).

It's too bad I'm not a very good joke writer (see my screenplay (and feel free to comment on it here) for how try to get people be cynical, evil and somewhat funny in an animation), I'd love to be in on this one, once it got more specific.

PS. If you need a voice for the grumpy dude, shoot me an e-mail. (Even though I'm nowhere near a senior citizen yet (or so I keep telling myself) and I do have the accent that comes with speaking english-as-a-foreign-language.)

Here's a tip.
When it comes to film, try to make most of the stuff apear on the screen, not on sound, for that is what film is mostly about.
Example: If a man wants to make someone do his bidding, instead of making him say, ' Give my your money or I'll shot you", he could say, 'Give me your money' and hold up a gun while making a click noise of the gun being loaded.

It is your story, so do what you want.
This is just a tip after all.

You could make the grumpy old man all depressed and hopeless about death, and young people come along full of excitement and adventure, talk to the guy, and walk away depressed. lol.

"Nice day isn't it?"
"Who cares, they're numbered. You'll become old like me and die regardless."
"ok....... well..... see you later. I've got school in an hour."
"I remember studying hard... making a lot of money... but now I'm almost dead and it won't matter."
"You could.... donate the money to charity."
"What's the point, whoever gets the money will become old like me and die anyway."
*young man walks away depressed*

I don't know lol. You don't have to make the old man that obvious but, just an idea.
